Brushing the fur on the Nights Watch cloaks, plaiting our Daenerys wigs and polishing the swords of the iron throne – we’ve got our hands full!  Out back, something beautiful is taking shape in the lair of our seamstress,  Jacqui Harrison . She’s working on a dress inspired by the burgundy and gold robe worn by evil-queenius Cersei Lannister.

Red cotton drill and gold crepe-back satin form the basis of the simple cross-over gown. More red cotton is painstakingly cut into a rampant lion sigil and hand tacked to the side panels in blue thread. “Blue thread?” I ask. Yes – so that the stitches are easy to see for removal after machine sewing the delicate pieces to the dress. Yikes! Heraldry is not dead!
